"Fishing Cape San Blas, St George Island, Apalachicola & Mexico Bech" Tarpon have began showing up along the beaches of Cape San Blas. The big push of fish should begin stacking up in West Pass within the next week. All signs point to an excellent year for the Silver King. Now if we can just get the winds to shut down for a while. Maybe a live sacrifice is in order. I can think of a few excellent candidates. LOL. The bay fishing has been the best it has been in years. All the species (Trout, Reds, Pompano, Spanish and Blues) are well represented. The Triple Tail bite is wide open. Some old timers say it is the best they have seen in 30 years. All in all, it is stacking up to be a great year. Hope you get tp join us. Please feel free to give me a call or shoot us an email if you have any questions. I hope we get to see you at the dock soon. 850-509-0573 Captain Keith Grimes
08/07/08 - Reversal of Fortunes!
Last weeks weather was terrible due to the tropical storm in the gulf that later made landfall in Texas. Finally on Tuesday of this week, the weather cleared. We found a few Tarpon but not the numbers we needed. We did land three large Triple Tail up to 14 lbs. On Wednesday the anticipated return of our silver friends simply never materialized. We burned $100 worth of gas only to see about a half a dozen Tarpon and one Triple Tail. A sad day indeed. I cancelled today due to the lack of Tarpon. I hope to get some reports from the Captains that did fish today. Maybe the gods will be more kind tomorrow. We should still have another week or so of large numbers of migratory fish still to come. I will update as soon as our fortunes change.
